NINJAS
:
It is said that the Ninja lineage comes from the Yama-Bushi, or a class of warrior monks. They originated in Kyoto region, which allowed them to integrate many of their beliefs into the mainly Shinto society. In the 11th century when the Samurai first came into existence, the Ninja clans decided not to remain apart of the controlling systems of the Shoguns, and moved to the mountain regions. To ensure their safety, many of these clans began to study different forms of fighting, which included explosives, martial arts, horsemanship, not to mention academics and sciences. It was said that any Warlord with even one Ninja would hold a great advantage. However, these tacticians soon became targets of the growing paranoia of the Warlords and Samurai. By the 17th century, they sought to eliminate many of the Ninja clans. Many lives were lost before the Ninjas were finally defeated.
Ninjas usually study the different forms of the arts of Ninjutsu and kempo. The principle is bascially moving one's body in a way that utilises movement against strength. Different techiniques include punching, kicking, striking, pressure points, holds, throws, avoidance, and espionage. Ninjas are also rumored have been masters of lock-picking and stealth.
