PERSONALITY
:
Soooo... what's her personality like, exactly? Misao is usually described as a spunky, sly, yet funny girl. However, she can be extremely stubborn at times, which is a lot like Kaoru (yet Kaoru has the wild temper, mind you.). She's a tomboy, having been raised by mainly a group of men. Also, something that I've noticed is that she seems to have somewhat of low self-esteem. Misao is constantly building herself up and up and then she meets with a failure and laments over it constantly. Just look at Shishio's failed coup e'tat of Kyoto.
However, with that trait comes her undying loyalty to the Oniwabanshu. At times, she can be self-doubting or percieved as a love-sick fool. However, these 'weak' traits eventually cause her to become strong and just further her desire to set things right again. While it's true that she feels something extremely deep for Aoshi, she is never ashamed of showing this to anyone. And whether you believe it or not, she is a very responsible girl. Her ability to forgive and forget is what makes her such an inspiring leader.
Misao is very compassionate about not just the Oniwabanshu, but life and other friends as well. When she and Aoshi stop by to drop off Tomoe's diary (in the Jinchuu arc), and Misao finds out what happened, she can't help but cry. When Yahiko... well, actually, most of the men in Rurouni Kenshin, poke fun at her for being noisy, small, and even unpretty, she lashes out. But you have to remember that Misao is only 16-ish. We 16 year olds are immature and are offended very easily, because you're just at that stage in life. Saitou, Chou, and even Sano comment frequently on how energetic and off the wall she as at times. This, unfortunately, is a normal trait too. When given the task of being a leader, or an important job, Misao strives to do her absolute best. Even if she does it to impress others, her kind nature often reflects in the fact that her safety comes behind everyone elses.
